Prepared grant proposals and correspondence for funders, evaluated grant activities, scheduled speakers for seminars and fundraising events, developed program components, i.e. Unity Project (multi-cultural expedition in Portland High School), assisted with special events.
Development Director - Lower Cape Outreach Council - Orleans, MA (2001-2002)
Supported volunteer efforts, wrote and edited materials including brochures, annual reports, direct mail and press releases. Prepared and wrote grant narrative for foundations, membership, and donors, organized special events, maintained database.
Director - Harwich Community Learning Center - Harwich, MA (1989-2001)
Expanded afterschool program to provide services for entire community. Established policies and procedures, advocated program as demonstration site for national model with Yale University resulting in award as a School of the 21st Century. Organized community events for at-risk population and convened agencies to collaborate on grant proposals. Promoted programs at town meetings, state seminars, national conferences.
